The compact Ocean Signal RescueMe PLB3 represents a significant step forward in PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) development, winning The Metstrade DAME Award in 2022 for its innovative and advanced design that harnesses multiple technologies within a small unit. As a leading producer of professional and recreational life saving products, Ocean Signal have developed the PLB3 to incorporate Automatic Identification System (AIS) functionality, Return Link Service (RLS) technology and Near Field Communication (NFC) functionality in a 406MHz PLB. The incorporation of 406MHz and AIS distress information effectively combines global and local rescue services, therefore maximizing the use of the most efficient rescue resources available worldwide. Additionally, NFC functionality provides users with the world's first smartphone-connected PLB, with the new Return Link Service feature giving users peace of mind in the knowledge that their emergency messages have been received and their location has been identified by global search and rescue forces to give them the best chances of a quick rescue and survival should an emergency situation arise.
The PLB3 has been designed to fit easily to most common life jackets on the oral inflation tube clip and, with a cord around the bladder, will activate along with the inflation of the jacket. Alternatively the PLB can be attached to a suitable belt or buoyant jacket with the webbing clip provided. Included in the pack is a well illustrated instruction manual to ensure you are fully prepared and ready to go.
